OK another day in the WET season - today's forecast was for rain - we had 3 LIGHT showers for about 90 seconds each! The rest of the day was sunny and beautiful. We spent most of the late morning (well, you do tend to take your time when on holidays - hey, who gets those anymore?) - where was I? Oh yeah... we spent most of the late morning at the Jean-Marie Tjibaou Cultural Centre which displays the Kanak traditional life and a fantastic building in itself. We are obviously in the "down-season" time as we were not troubled by many others in our wanders. One of the interesting parts of the centre is the "Kanak Pathway" which wanders through trees and shrubs planted to provide a backdrop to Kanak creation stories - "from birth to rebirth"

From the Cultural Centre we headed to Ouen Toro (a tall hill overlooking Noumea)
After that we were FORCED to head to Baie des Citrons and have a swim - or even two, or maybe three in Gail's case!
A light lunch of baguette and ham was fitted in there somewhere and then we were forced to have a drink at a beachside bar (only to assist the local economy of course)
